Annually, each of Vermont's 12 Regional Development Corporations (RDC), in cooperation with their partner Regional Planning Commissions (RPC), solicit economic and community development projects that will bolster or help transform a region's economy. Each region then selects 10 of the projects as priorities and includes them on their region's Regional Priority Project list. The lists are used by federal, state, and regional entities to understand the funding needs of the region when they make investments. Projects identified in the lists may support business retention and expansion, create programs that encourage job creation and workforce development, expand access to high-speed broadband, and implement new or innovative economic development practices.
Regions are soliciting nominations for their 2025 Regional Priority Project lists. If a region's submission deadline is not listed, please contact that region to request information about their application process. Most regions accept applications twice a year (fall and spring) or on a continuous basis because Regional Priority Project lists are submitted to the State in December and can be revised in May annually.
