The Vermont Division for Historic Preservation, in coordination with the National Park Service and FEMA, is sponsoring in-person training for flood adaptation for buildings. The authors of the Guidelines on Flood Adaptation for Rehabilitating Historic Buildings shall be leading the training. Unfortunately, increased flood impacts are a permanent reality for those of us working with historic buildings in Vermont. This is a great opportunity to learn from subject experts.

  • The training will be held on May 13, 2025 at the Old Labor Hall in Barre.
  • This workshop is offered free of charge, and participants will receive a copy of the Guidelines.
  • Please arrive for check-in at 8:00 AM, as the training will begin promptly at 8:30 AM.
  • This will be a full day, in-person training with snacks and lunch provided.
  • The workshop is limited to 50-60 people so please register as soon as possible.

Please sign up no later than Friday, April 11, 2025 by either completing the Flood Training Registration Form online or contacting Lindsay.Pacheco@vermont.gov.
