The City of Caribou, Maine, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of City Manager. Caribou (pop. 7,850), has a Mayor/City Council (seven members)/City Manager form of government, a municipal budget excluding schools of $9 million, and 72 full-time employees. Caribou, the most northeastern city in the U.S., is a full-service city and winter and summer recreational area. The City Council is seeking an individual with strong budget, investment, and financial management skills; experience in public works and solid waste operations; experience in economic and community development activities; and experience in personnel management and labor relations. Candidates should also possess excellent written and oral communication skills, progressively responsible supervisory and management experience, and demonstrated leadership ability. Municipal management experience and a college degree are preferred, but candidates with comparable work experience and education are encouraged to apply.

Salary negotiable, based on experience and training.
